Finished Evaluation

This is the finished evaluation for Jamie Skey Megan Jefferies, Katy Bone.  please see the post before this to see how i created it. I used logic 9, Microsoft powerpoint to merge the two parts of the evaluation together.

Evaluation

This morning i finished putting all the parts of our evaluation together i made a powerpoint outlining what we had done in the assignment. katy was recording as the voice over for our evaluation and megan wrote the script for her, nikki chose to do her evaluation separately. i used Logic 9 to add the audio of katy speaking to the powerpoint i had made, i saved the powerpoint as a .mov file so i could open it as a video and add audio to it in logic. here are some print screens of what i had done:

The bottom chunk is our Lecturer speaking the questions

i added in a backing track to keep the evaluation interesting and so people didn't loose interest

Today all four of us have individually been answering a question for our evaluation, creating our own powerpoint presentations which we will then put together to make one once we have finished

Film Poster Revised

this is the poster jamie took and changed to make better for this i used layer masks and different blending modes in photoshop to create a black and scary effect. i used "lighting effects" in photoshop to isolate the main subject to make it stand out.

i used the same fonts as i used in the trailer so it matches up and looks the same. at home i plan to make this look a bit better.

Final Day Of Production

Today is the final day of production before we start working on our evaluation next week. Jamie completed the movie trailer with all the audio,  Nikki started her evaluation and helped me adding the finishing touches to the blog. Megan finished the advertising poster for the trailer. 

Anything We Have Missed Out On Previous Posts

This post will consist of anything little that we have missed in previous posts. All the little things we have made but haven't managed to post about.

For our trailer we will put a screen that shows the rating of our film. As this is a horror film we will be using a Red screen which represents  R-rated which is used for films that can only be seen by people 17 years of over. As we couldn't find one on the internet to use as an example jamie has found a green one that shows what we mean. we will copy the red one from a youtube trailer we have found.....

This is the rating screen we have created bellow. Nikki used different sized fonts, outer shadows and different layer to create this we found the websites and the links on a original poster

Bellow is our red screen before we we added any effects we just added one text and changed the size of that words "Preview, Restricted Audiences Only" this made the poster look more like the original.

Music

All the music that jamie put in the trailer he manipulated in garageband then bought it into imovie later he then changed parts of the audio so it was unique to our trailer, i mixed different loops together to make different sounding audio clips he added spacey effects like "reverb,delay,flange,chorus" to make the spooky sounds that are commonly used in movie trailers.

Finishing Touches

Jamie and Nikki have finished sound effects on the trailer and are adding the finishing touches to the clips. Me and Katie have been making a film poster and a film magazine front cover advertising our film.
Here is our nearly finished magazine cover. We changed the colour scheme and made the main image larger. All we need to do is add other news that would be featured in the magazine.

We also made a start to our movie poster using a screen print from the movie trailer as the main image.

Here is a screen grab of our progress so far. Next week me and Katie are going to finish off the poster and magazine cover and Jamie and Nikki will make the finishing touches to the trailer.

Today me and Katie have been making a start to our final magazine cover
this is how far we got today, using inspiration from an actual Empire cover for the layout.

we have created a similar image to the one from 'The Grudge' giving the image a slight green/blue effect to it and adding it to a plain black background to make the main focus of the image stand out.

Today Jamie has been carrying on with the editing part, he has finished of the type part of the trailer, edited the fonts and then added that to the existing trailer.

Unfortunately Nikki was absent from this weeks lesson.

jamie has been working hard on perfecting and editing out trailer, to make the type look like its being typed. nikki and megan were grafting as per usual, as they carried on editing the photos of megan for the magazine photo. i katie bone was foreseeing  all of these projects and made sure there was no slip ups or slacking.  xoxo

Today Katie and Nikki took photos of me to use for our magazine front cover, using the photo from 'The Grudge' we started to create a similar image.

Using photoshop we edited in lots of darkness around the eyes, and more hair over the face and blended it all in with a black background. We haven't finished the image yet so we will carry on with it next week and then put it into our magazine cover.

Unfortunately Jamie was not in the lesson again so we couldn't do anymore editing to the trailer

24th January

Today Me and Katie created a mock up of our magazine front cover. Using the layout and font from a previous Empire magazine for inspiration. Unfortunately we don't have our own images yet so today we improvised using another movie poster from 'The Grudge' and worked the layout of the text around this and will arrange them around our own image another day.

Nikki and Jamie were off sick today so unfortunately we couldn't complete anymore editing as Jamie has all the footage on his own external hard drive which we didn't have access to.

Jamie has been experimenting with the use of sounds to enhance the views feelings and create an eery atmosphere. He has been using synths, samples, strings and other sound effects. Nikki has been re-editing our trailer, which has involved adding in small sections and changing colours. Megan has been giving constructive criticism on both aspects of sounds and editing, her input has helping Jamie and Nikki make choices.

Today me and Katie researched into film magazines such as Empire and Total film, after getting a few magazine covers we have decided to use a similar layout to this one. We're going to change the bright colours used on this to a more dark/scary suitable colour palette for our movie.

We also liked this layout too from Total Film Magazine

Nikki and Jamie carried on today with editing the move trailer while helping with the research
